They are actually Japanese letters. ッ It&#8217;s a katakana syllabogram, pronounced &#8220;tsu&#8221; There&#8217;s also this: シ This one&#8217;s called &#8220;she&#8221; Besides their obvious contribution to the Japanese language, they are pretty awesome alternative smilies.]]></description>
